Data Configuration Overview

Click on the Configure... button to
load the Configuration pop-up dialog. This dialog box controls
which layers appear on the map, and how they are displayed. Un-check the
 Show wind barbs on map
radio button to remove wind barbs from the map display.
The tabs along the top of the dialog box allow configuration
of each category. Go to
Step 5 for a complete description of
each tab.
Click on the Grids tab to show configuration
parameters for gridded data. Uncheck the
Show Background Grid Field
radio button to hide the gridded data on the map display. Uncheck the
Show Topography On Map
radio button to remove the topography information from the map display.
The map display is now blank, except for the US states layer. The
applet can be used to show the latest advisories by going to the
AIR/SIGMETs tab and clicking on the
Show AIR/SIGMETs On Map
radio button. The display will now show only the AIRMETs and
SIGMETs information, and will update automatically when new
advisories are available.
